In 2021, I began developing the concept by painting a series of oil and acrylic paintings. Some are triptychs, while others are part of a series that reflects on themes such as reproduction and feminism.
They are inspired by texts such as The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins.
These sculptures are the first studies created using materials and forms that allowed me to explore the organic and the fluidity of shape as a metaphor for the fluidity of genes and gender.
The use of wood enabled me to experiment with the concept of hybridity, not only in terms of gender but also as an ecological hybrid.
The colors evoke the artificial and the digital.
